Professor Philip Brainard, played by Robin Williams, is a brilliant but absent-minded inventor whose latest creation, a flying rubber-like substance he dubs “Flubber,” leads to a series of uproarious mishaps and madcap experiments. As Brainard navigates his chaotic life, he must also juggle his relationships, including his romance with Sara Jean Reynolds, portrayed by Marcia Gay Harden, and his rivalry with wealthy businessman Wilson Croft, played by Christopher McDonald.
